I really enjoyed this book.Once I started it, I couldn't put it down. i was greatly impressed with the skill of this writer. Her characters are well-developed, likable, and believable. As a fan of mideival romance, I loved the setting and the author's use of terms of the time. She manages to provide descriptions of the setting and events without ever giving the impression she is just trying to add to the word count and I never got impatiernt for her to get on with the plot. I would definitely recommend this book. There were a few minor typos, but no inconsistencies or plot holes.

The Gorgon The Great Knights of de Moray Book 2 edition by Kathryn Le Veque Romance eBooks Reviews

This book was riveting until it ran into preposterous circumstances in which the two main characters - Sir Bose de Moray and the Lady Summer du Bonne - found themselves in, involving the unscrupulous and honor-less knight - Breck Kerry. Though they were captured by enemy forces after their elopement, I was rooting for them to keep running because some of Bose's friends showed up to help. Unfortunately, they all decided that it was in Bose's best interest to turn himself in and stand "trial" even though he was wronged and falsely accused of thievery by Kerry for stealing "his" bride. I didn't agree with how he and Summer surrendered because he was facing death, if found guilty. Thankfully, a miracle happened in the end in the form of an old friend who helped him gain ultimate redemption and retribution, from not just Kerry, but also from the evil knight's accomplices which included Bose's malicious former mother-in-law, and Summer's uncaring and self-centered father. If it weren't for those set of circumstances, I wouldn't have given The Gorgon 4 stars. Overall, I found this to be an enchanting book for the most part, better than most but not as good as some others such as The Great Protector and The Guardian of Darkness. It's definitely a pleasant book to pass the time.
What a wonderful love story between Bose and Summer. Just yesterday, I left a not so favorable review on another book by this author but when the Gorgon was also available for free decided to give it another go. Could not put it down!!!!! They cared for each other from the very beginning...Bose is your typical knight - protective, loving, gentle, yet within a blink of an eye anyone who threatens his lady and the switch is flipped.

I love the secondary characters in this book...between her brothers to the wonderfully cute Anthony....

There is only one love scene between them so the story is very tame but believe me this is still all romantic goodness!!!

Great book!!!!!
A different story, with much information about jousts and tournaments. Some plots twists and surprises. Not her best story, but mostly enjoyable. Kept overusing the words "literally" and "God's Beard" (as a swear word). Refered to Bose as massive many, many times, as well as his massive arms, legs, and thighs. Summer did a lot of crying, and much of the story was sad. The two villians were so evil, they were almost not believable - I loved to hate them, as well I should!
I was most intrigued by the title of this book "The Gorgon" why any self-respecting knight would pick a name to symbolize a group of hideous monsters seemed inappropriate. I at first was imagining the hero Sir Bose de Moray turning others to stone and realized how silly that thought was. As the story progressed I learned why Ms. Le Veque chose the title of gorgon was to signify a truly evil mother-in-law sarcastically. In going to her website I guess the title of the book was originally called the titan but I guess since no one really knows what titans look like she had to go with an easily imagined abominable creature instead.
Bose de Moray the hero who was previously the captain and friend of King Henry has been on the tournament circuit after a personal horrible tragedy afflicts him. Bose goes to a tournament held at Chaldon castle and meets the heroine Summer du Bonne falling instantly in love with her and her falling in love with him. Summer has been protected and shielded from others by her family not allowing her to meet anyone due to her "affliction" but she begins to live and open up with Bose. Many roadblocks face the couple not only must Bose fight for Summer but he has incomprehensible odds to face with not only Summer's brothers/family and other's that want to bring ruin to Bose's reputation. In the end Bose is able to turn and convince everyone with Summer's help of his reputability.
Ms. Le Veque really knows how to captivate readers with her story-telling and makes you care about the characters even the side characters. I especially liked Duncan Kerry and Olav; I would hope that Ms. Le Veque also writes about them too! Lady Summer du Bonne the heroine was such a strong character despite her speech impediment and I loved the fact that Ms. Le Veque didn't make her perfect either. Sir Bose de Moray was a wonderful honorable knight to not only understand Summer but also to get her brothers support. I rated the book 4 stars despite the apprehension I felt with the title. The novel and story was superb! I would indubitably recommend this book and Ms. Le Veque!
